Principal's Letter - October Newsletter

Dear Carlos Gilbert Families,

I hope to see you at our amazing annual Halloween Carnival on Saturday, October 27th from 12:00 to 5:00. It is sure to be spooktacular! The funds that are raised at this event will directly impact Carlos Gilbert Elementary School.

As we begin the second quarter of school, the teachers and I would like to stress the importance
of regular attendance and being at school on time. The link between attendance and school performance starts at the youngest grades. Absenteeism and tardiness is associated with lower academic performance as early as Kindergarten. Regardless if the absence is excused or not, missing school impacts your child’s learning.

Your child is considered tardy after 8:00 am. When students are tardy they not only miss valuable instruction, but when they enter the classroom they interrupt other’s learning. Please be sure to have your child at school every day and on time!

Thank you for your support!

Kim Pietrocci, Principal
Carlos Gilbert Elementary School
