Pick Up and Drop Off Rules

posted Oct 3, 2018, 7:42 AM by Jessie Lawrence

Please follow these rules to help traffic and safety at pick-up and drop-off. Thank you!
  • NO PARKING in either school lane. Parents must stay in the car in these lanes.
  • If you would like to walk your children in, please park on the street or LANB bank (in the morning).
  • During morning drop-off, drive down the lanes as far as possible to allow other cars to pull in off Catron Street.
  • During afternoon pick-up, children are NOT allowed to wait at the bench. This blocks traffic. All children must be picked up at the green area at the far end of the pickup lanes. Please pull all the way down to the end for pickup.

Join Green Team!

posted Sep 19, 2018, 10:24 AM by Jessie Lawrence

Students and parents are invited to join us in the garden outside the cafeteria on Tuesdays from 3 - 4 p.m. for Green Team! Over the next several weeks, we will get our hands dirty weeding the beds, spreading out the Reunity Resources compost that was made from school lunch composting programs (including ours!), setting up a worm compost system, and prepping the beds for fall/winter. Ruby Lopez from Earthcare runs Green Team, and she will also be providing sustainability education in the 1st and the 2nd grade classrooms this year. Let's dig in the dirt!

Ruby will also be leading the STEM portion of Green Team for 3rd - 6th graders January - March 2019, during which we will be conducting an energy audit and exploring alternative energy ideas to green up the Carlos Gilbert campus. Stay tuned . . .

Registration News for 2018 - 19

posted Mar 15, 2018, 8:37 AM by Jessie Lawrence

You will receive the following two documents in this Thursday folder: Intent to Return form and a Student Profile Sheet.

If you are returning to CGE, you simply fill out the Intent to Return form, update your child's Profile Sheet, and return both documents to your classroom teacher by Monday, March 26. We encourage you to return the forms before Spring Break.

If you will not be returning to CGE next school year (including 6th graders moving to another SFPS school), you will need to register your child at their new school. Registration times and dates are available here on the SFPS website. If your child is planning to attend a private or charter school next year, simply return the letter of intent to your child's teacher stating this.
