As you have probably started to hear this week, this year’s beloved Carlos Gilbert Halloween Carnival will be a mix of online fundraising and in-person fun for the students this year. FUNdraising has already started and FUN will be happening all month long as we build up to October 29th, when we will create a Halloween Carnival on the playground for the students during their school hours.

As we head into week two of the Carnival countdown, we are happy to report we are off to a great start! Thanks to everyone who has contributed toward a theme basket so far, and thanks to all the kids who have already sold cash raffle tickets. We still have a long way to go with fundraising, so let’s keep up the great work this week!

Make sure to check out the Gift Basket Raffle page.

This document breaks it all down. Stay tuned for ongoing details :) Make sure you're getting the EEK!-blasts

What if arrival and dismissal at school were among the best parts of the day? A lofty goal, right? Well, yes. So! Until that day comes (and it's all of our jobs to make it possible) - let's start with this being the SAFEST part of the day.

#1 forever: Patience and care. And our reminder for today - Clear Crosswalks

Remember! Crosswalks are for people, not cars.

  • Stop your vehicle before a crosswalk.

  • Proceed through a crosswalk when there is enough room on the other side for your vehicle to clear the crosswalk.

  • See pedestrians safely cross.

Unsure where those crosswalks are? See the yellow marks on map below. Some are at intersections and some are school crosswalks and a couple are school driveways. This is where our beloved and amazing Carlos Gilbert Elementary students are walking. Keeping them clear assists in the kids' safe passage and the orderly progress of traffic.

Thank you!
