About the PTK

PTK stands for Parents, Teachers, and Kids

The Carlos Gilbert Elementary PTK brings the teacher-parent-student community together to make the very most of our awesome school. There's room for everyone at this table and we're all better for it - especially the students that we are all here to see learn and grow.

The PTK actively raises money in order to fund programs and activities including:

​

  • Grade level programs like dance, theater, fish-raising, and cooking

  • Reimbursements for classroom expenses

  • Club and team stipends

  • Tutoring

  • Field trips and activities

Halloween Carnival Boo Crew meeting schedule:

  • August 16, 2023 at 8:15 am - 🎃 Halloween Carnival Boo Crew Kickoff meeting in the Teacher's Lounge.  At this kickoff meeting we'll discuss big picture carnival planning and assign volunteers to lead the main events.  Every parent, guardian, and teacher interested in helping out with the world-famous Halloween Carnival is welcome.

There are many ways to volunteer with the PTK! 

 

All levels of participation are welcome.

If you have even a little bit of time or a talent you think would be helpful to the school, the kids, the teachers or the parents of Carlos Gilbert Elementary, we would love to hear from you. If you're just curious about what we are doing, please drop us a line or come to a meeting!

Be a Room Rep

​

Room Representatives are the bread and butter of the PTK.  The Room Rep parent volunteers act as liaisons between the PTK, the teachers and the classroom parents to help with communication and planning of any special events. If you are interested in being a Room Rep, please email Erika.  A classroom can have as many room parents as want to be involved, and each classroom typically has two to three Room Reps.
